Female teacher facing sex charges
Tayside Police HQ
Police were investigating claims made after a party in Broughty Ferry
A female teacher has been charged with sexual offences by Tayside Police over allegations about a relationship with a 17-year-old boy.

The 29-year-old has been accused of having sexual intercourse with a person under 18 while an adult in a position of authority.

She has also been charged with two offences of buying alcohol for someone under 18 years of age.

Prosecutors are now deciding whether to take the case to court.

Tayside Police were asked to investigate claims made following a party in Broughty Ferry earlier this summer.

BBC Scotland understands the teacher has since left her job at a secondary school in Dundee.

It is unclear if she will now face any disciplinary action.

A spokesman for Dundee City Council declined to comment.
