Man dies after caravan park fire
A Czech farm worker has died after a blaze at a caravan park in Angus which left another man with serious injuries.

Petr Adamik, of Melnik, Czech Republic, was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and put on a life support machine but succumbed to his injuries.

The other man, who has not been named, is being treated in hospital for serious burns.

The fire broke out at Birkhill Farm, Arbroath, at about 0200 BST on Monday. An investigation is being carried out.

A police family liaison officer has been appointed and they have been in touch with the Czech Consulate to inform the respective families.

Police said there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

The caravan is one of several being used as temporary accommodation for migrant workers employed in the agricultural industries in the local area.

A joint investigation is being carried out by police and Tayside Fire and Rescue Service.
