Hospital staff get attack alarms
Ninewells Hospital
NHS Tayside said the hospital car parks were patrolled
Safety alarms are being handed out to hospital staff after two violent attacks on workers within the grounds.

Workers at Ninewells hospital in Dundee raised a petition following the incidents, amid concern that there could be repeat attacks.

A total of 1,000 free alarms have been distributed by NHS Tayside.

Last August, a nurse was assaulted and robbed of her handbag as she left her car at lunchtime. A radiographer was also attacked in the car park.

NHS Tayside said the move was another assurance that the authority was taking the safety and security of staff seriously.

Managers said the car parks were patrolled regularly, 24 hours a day, and staff could request an escort to their vehicles.
