No second term for rector Kelly
Lorraine Kelly
Lorraine Kelly is coming to the end of her three-year term
Television presenter Lorraine Kelly will not seek a second term as rector of Dundee University.

The Glasgow-born GMTV presenter's three-year appointment to the position will end in February, when her successor will take up the post.

Ms Kelly, who went on a pub crawl in Dundee to celebrate her inauguration in 2004, said serving as rector had been an honour and a privilege.

The nomination deadline for election as the new rector has yet to close.

Craig Murray, who was recalled as British ambassador to Uzbekistan in 2004 after voicing concerns about torture by the Uzbek authorities, has publicly declared his intention to stand.
