Tayside Police have said they are ready to cope with thousands of visitors who will be in Carnoustie for the Open Golf tournament.
The event, which takes place from 19 to 22 July, is expected to attract fans from all over the world.
Officers will be available during the competition to deal with enquiries from the public.
A traffic management plan will be in place, and residents have been warned to check parking restrictions.
The divisional commander in charge of policing the event promised a "firm, fair and friendly" approach.
Chief Superintendent Bill Harkins said: "We intend to ensure that visitors enjoy the vibrant atmosphere that Carnoustie and Angus has to offer, but we also feel it is essential that people understand that certain standards are adhered to.
"Tayside Police has an excellent record in reducing crime and discouraging anti-social behaviour and the police will take every possible step to ensure that visitors and local residents can enjoy the tournament without disturbance."

A number of roads in Carnoustie will be closed or subject to one-way systems during the event, and local residents have been urged to take time to study the traffic managment plan.
A police spokesman said: "If your house is located on any of the affected streets then you will not be able to park outside your house or there may be a restriction on the times you can park.
"You can apply for a free Residents Parking Permit from the Carnoustie Police Station. However, you will need to take proof of residence with you.
"If a vehicle is found to be parked in a manner causing an obstruction or in contravention of a parking restriction, the vehicle will be uplifted and removed. The owner or driver will incur an uplift charge of at least £150 and will face prosecution."
The police said a dedicated liaison officer had been attending community meetings and visited local businesses in the town, to publicise the traffic management plan and answer any questions or queries.
