Inquiry into pylons to continue

The public inquiry into plans for a Beauly to Denny power line upgrade will continue, the Scottish Executive has announced.

Objectors to the line of pylons had attempted to halt the inquiry after claiming that environmental impact assessments were deficient.

The executive said they had considered the legal submissions and decided the inquiry should proceed.

The inquiry is due to continue until the end of the year.
