Authority in house numbers move
Angus Council has proposed a charge of £80 for street name and house number requests in a move to cut costs.

Local authority chiefs said those benefiting from the service should meet the costs of the "lengthy" procedure.

Administration costs for the system came to £16,413 in 2005-06 and the charge would allow the council to break even on costs, according to a report.

Councillors on the infrastructure services committee have been asked to approve the plans.

Angus Council receives about 200 street naming and house numbering requests every year.
