Lawyer suspended in police probe

A prosecution lawyer has been suspended amid a police investigation into a dropped case, it has emerged.

Morag Stuart, 34, a fiscal depute in Dundee, is at the centre of a probe being conducted by Tayside Police.

Ms Stuart was suspended in accordance with normal guidelines, a spokeswoman from the Crown Office confirmed.

"We are aware that there is an ongoing police investigation in relation to a member of staff in Dundee," the spokeswoman said.

Tayside Police said the matter was "under inquiry".
