The honour was presented by the university's chancellor, actress Dame Diana Rigg.

More than 1,100 students are expected to graduate from Stirling University during the summer.

A total of eight people are in line for honorary degrees from Stirling, including former MP Tam Dalyell, businessman Sir Bill Gammell and dementia campaigner Frank Hitchman.
