Two die and one injured in A75 crash

A man and a woman have died and another person has been seriously injured in a crash in Dumfries and Galloway.

The collision happened on the A75 near Carrutherstown at about 0800 GMT. Police said they could not confirm how many vehicles were involved.

However, they appealed to the driver of an articulated lorry to contact them. It is believed to have been overtaken by one of the cars involved.

The injured person has been taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
