Two men rescued from fire in flat

Two men have been rescued after an early morning fire at a flat in Borders.

The alarm was raised by a neighbour who heard the smoke alarm go off at about 0400 GMT at the top floor property in Lothian Street in Hawick.

Two 19-years-olds were inside the property at the time.

Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue said the men were taken to Borders General Hospital where they were treated for smoke inhalation.
