Man in court on stabbing charge

A man has appeared in court in the Borders charged with stabbing another man and putting his life in danger.

Alan Boyle, 29, of George Terrace, Peebles, appeared on petition in private at Duns Sheriff Court.

He is alleged to have assaulted David Connolly at a property in the town by stabbing him to his severe injury and permanently disfiguring him.

Mr Boyle made no plea or declaration and was ordered to be remanded in custody, with the case continued.
