A preliminary hearing has been held into the death of a head teacher thought to have taken her own life after a critical school report. Irene Hogg, 54, was in charge of Glendinning Primary in the Borders when she went missing in March 2008. Her body was later found at a remote spot in the foothills of the Cheviots. A hearing was scheduled at Jedburgh Sheriff Court prior to a full fatal accident inquiry due to begin at the same location on 7 December. The circumstances surrounding Miss Hogg's death will be investigated by the inquiry. It is expected that school inspectors, teaching colleagues and education officials at Scottish Borders Council will be called to give evidence.
