Pin-striped suit attacker sought

Police have appealed for witnesses after a man was attacked by a group of men outside a south of Scotland pub.

The incident happened near the Victoria Arms in Friars Vennel, Dumfries, at about 2200 BST on Wednesday.

One of the men who carried out the attack was wearing a blue and white tracksuit top while the second was in a pin-striped suit with a white shirt.

The 29-year-old victim suffered a number of cuts and bruises as a result of the assault.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the attack to contact them.
