Girl charged over pupil drug sale

Stranraer Academy has over a thousand pupils

A 16-year-old girl has been charged after drugs were supplied to pupils at Stranraer Academy, Dumfries and Galloway Police have said.

Officers said the girl was charged in relation to the supply of controlled drugs at the 1150 pupil school.

Insp David McCallum said pupils and staff had approached the school liaison officer and raised concerns about the behaviour of the girl involved.

He added: "The girl has been bailed to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court."
