Jedburgh - Undiscovered Scotland
The outbreak is understood to centre on Jedburgh

An outbreak of swine flu cases in the Scottish Borders is understood to centre on a factory in Jedburgh.

It is believed all four confirmed cases in the region have been at the plant, with a further two employees awaiting test results.

The factory concerned has not been identified by NHS Borders.

The first instance of the H1N1 virus in the region was described as a "travel-related" case when it was announced by the local health authority on Friday.

A total of 44 new cases of the virus were confirmed in Scotland on Tuesday.

It brought the national total to 1,162.
