Customs stopped stun gun import

A court has heard how a builder ordered a stun gun and pepper spray from Germany via the internet.

Simon Ross, 27, of Bridgend, Duns, in the Scottish Borders, admitted contravening the firearms act.

Duns Sheriff Court was told the items were found when customs officers at Birmingham airport checked a parcel which was addressed to him.

Ross said he had been unaware that the items were illegal without an import licence. Sentence was deferred.
