A community wind farm is being considered near Selkirk
Supporters of community wind farm planned for the Borders are seeking financial support.
A recent poll in Selkirk backed the idea which could see about half a dozen turbines built near the town.
Those behind the plan say it would bring in millions of pounds to the area over the next 25 years and supply electricity to about 10,000 homes.
However, funding will now have to be found in order to carry out surveys to see if the plan can move forward.
Dr Lindsay Neil, of the Selkirk Regeneration Group, said they were looking to secure some kind of financial support.
"We would have to seek grants to go ahead," he said.
"Because of the climate where the government is espousing going ahead on renewables we hope we will make a case that will attract the funding we need to get these surveys done."
