The Borders Book Festival has reported a doubling of its ticket sales compared with the same period last year.
The Melrose-based event, which runs from 18 to 21 June, has seen strong interest over the first three weeks since the box office opened.
Two events with Michael Palin and one with Rory Bremner and John Fortune sold out on the programme launch day.
Director Alistair Moffat said book festivals were thriving and people were hungry for "intelligent talk".
