Wind farm rejected after inquiry

Turbines
The wind farm plans have been rejected after public inquiry

Plans for a wind farm development in the Scottish Borders have been rejected following a public inquiry.

Windjen Power wanted to construct eight turbines on land near Dunion Hill south of Jedburgh.

The development was the subject of a week-long hearing in the area earlier this year.

Scottish Borders Council first rejected the scheme in 2007 after planning officials advised that the landscape was not suitable for the turbines.

Prior to the Dunion Hill rejection every wind farm development in the Borders to go to public inquiry over the past five years had been approved.
