Police identify house fire victim

Police have identified a man who died following a house fire in Dumfries and Galloway.

Hector MacLean, 62, was killed as a result of the blaze which broke out in his home in Fairway, Stranraer, shortly after midnight on Saturday.

The living room and kitchen of the house were damaged in the fire.

A spokesman for Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
