New school name suggestions made

Designs for the new Heathhall school
The top suggestion for the school has been Heathhall Primary School

A public survey has come up with a suggested name for a new primary school on the outskirts of Dumfries.

The most popular selection put forward for the site at Heathhall was Heathhall Primary School.

Other suggestions included Neverland Primary, Arrol Johnston Primary and Kenneth Cameron Primary after the former councillor for the area.

The new school is part of a multi-million pound public private partnership building programme.

The school is currently under construction at a site adjacent to the former Dumfries and Galloway College.

It is scheduled to open in spring 2010.

Councillors will meet to agree the new name for the school next week.
