Joyrider injured toddler in crash

A teenager who crashed a car into a wall while joyriding with an 18-month-old child in the passenger seat has admitted to dangerous driving.

The 15-year-old, who cannot be named, pleaded guilty to a series of motoring offences in Galashiels and Melrose on 22 July at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

He admitted driving aggressively and at excessive speed on residential streets while under the influence of alcohol.

The toddler was injured in the crash. Sentence was deferred until next month.
