Tribute paid to Hercules victim

Hercules C130K
Cpl Williams died when the Hercules was shot down in Iraq

A tribute has been unveiled to a Scots serviceman who died when his plane was shot down in Iraq.

Cpl David Williams was one of 10 military personnel killed aboard the Hercules plane in January 2005.

A bench was dedicated in his honour at the Eyemouth war memorial in the Scottish Borders town where the Dumfries-born serviceman grew up.

An inquest into the deaths of the victims of the crash is due to resume later this month.

A brief dedication service was held in Eyemouth with members of Cpl Williams's family and representatives from the RAF and Scottish Borders Council.

It was followed by a fly-past by the RAF.
