Man had £20,000 drug haul on A1

A man has admitted being found with about £20,000 worth of illegal drugs on the A1 in the Scottish Borders.

Malcolm Burge, 27, of Heaton, near Newcastle, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis resin and diazepam.

The offences happened on the A1 near the junction with the A1107 road to Eyemouth on 22 November last year.

Sentence was deferred at Jedburgh Sheriff Court for reports and Burge's bail was continued.
