A falcon which went missing after an attack by a flock of urban seagulls has been found in Glasgow.
The bird was mobbed by about 50 gulls on Saturday as it took part in a bird of prey demonstration in the city.
The male Gyr falcon, named Goose, belongs to the Cumberland Bird of Prey Centre at Kirtlebridge, near Lockerbie.
Owner Gary Swainson was contacted by numerous bird lovers after the falcon went missing. It was eventually spotted on a Glasgow chimney.
The falcon was still on top of the chimney on Monday night and a local falconer was waiting for it to come down.
Goose was spotted eating a crow earlier before flying up to the chimney.
Mr Swainson said, because the falcon had eaten the bird, it might take some time to come down.
'Gorged itself'
He said: "I'm very surprised. The falcons we fly in the displays are not encouraged to hunt, but that means if they do get lost they do not have the ability to hunt.
"We are not sure if he hunted the crow himself, or if it was dead already.
"Either way, it's gorged itself and isn't interested in coming down."
Mr Swainson thanked members of the public for their response to media appeals.
He said: "The people of Glasgow have been absolutely phenomenal in calling us when they saw the falcon and it's down to their vigilance that we have had a chance of getting the bird back."
