A contract to provide power cables linking an offshore wind farm to the Solway coast has been awarded.
Aberdeen-based Subocean Ltd has secured the deal - believed to be worth about £7m - for the 60-turbine Robin Rigg development.
The company will use a specially equipped barge to place the cables up to 20m (65ft) below the sea bed.
The development is located about six miles off the Dumfries and Galloway coastline.
According to developers E.ON, the wind farm has the potential to deliver energy to about 117,000 homes.
The site will be split into two areas with 30 wind turbines in each section.
