Apartment plans facing rejection

Plans for a 90-apartment quayside development near Dumfries should be refused, planning officials have said.

Developers Carmount Properties Ltd want to build a total of four blocks at Kingholm Quay.

The plans include more than 100 parking spaces and the erection of a "harbour wall" flood defence system.

However, planning officers on Dumfries and Galloway Council are against the scheme due to the height of the buildings and their visual impact.
