Man charged with £180,000 fraud

A man has appeared in court on a charge of fraudulently obtaining goods and services worth almost £180,000 from firms across south west Scotland.

Llewellyn Doyle, 43, from Slough in Berkshire, pleaded not guilty to acting with others in forming a fraudulent scheme to obtain credit.

The offences are alleged to have taken place over a period of nearly a year up to June 2002.

The case at Dumfries Sheriff Court was continued for a month.
