Man denies lamb starvation charge

Mr Struthers will stand trial at Peebles Sheriff Court

A rural affairs civil servant has denied a charge of starving 52 lambs to death at a farm in the Borders.

Andrew Struthers, 48, of Kettleshill Farm, West Linton, is alleged to have committed the offence between October 2006 and January 2007.

He is also accused of failing to comply with regulations concerning the disposal of carcasses.

Mr Struthers has denied the charges and will face trial at Peebles Sheriff Court on 30 July.
