Driver faces death crash charge
A man has appeared in private at Jedburgh Sheriff Court charged with causing the death of a pensioner by dangerous driving.

It followed an incident on the A698 Hawick to Jedburgh road on 25 January in which 86-year-old Richard Scott, from Yetholm, died.

Kevin Neil, 41, from Hawick, made no plea or declaration and was released on bail by Sheriff Kevin Drummond.

The case was continued for further examination.
