Man on 'wrong-way' driving charge
A pensioner has been accused in court of driving for more than five miles on the wrong side of the A74(M) motorway.

James Aird, 80, of Sherwood Park, Lockerbie, pleaded not guilty to driving dangerously on the 17 December.

He was alleged to have driven north on the southbound carriageway in Dumfries and Galloway - causing other motorists to take evasive action.

One driver is claimed to have collided with the central reservation. Trial at Dumfries Sheriff Court was set for May.
