Boy injured as he steps off bus
A 14-year-old boy has suffered serious injuries after being struck by a van after stepping off a school bus in south west Scotland.

The accident happened at about 1550 GMT on Thursday in Lochmaben.

The boy had just come off a bus which was parked on the road outside the town's doctor's surgery.

He suffered a broken collar bone in the incident. He was taken to Dumfries Infirmary where his injuries were said to be serious but not life-threatening.

Police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them.
