A bus strike in the Borders has been postponed for talks
A planned one-day strike by bus drivers in the Borders has been postponed.

About 80 FirstBus staff were due to take industrial action on Monday as part of a long-running pay dispute.

However, a spokeswoman for the company has now confirmed that further talks will be held on 17 December to try to reach a negotiated settlement.

Drivers claim their hourly pay rates are less than their counterparts in the central belt. It is now hoped that talks can resolve the issue.

Routes throughout the Scottish Borders and between the region and Edinburgh were set to be affected by the action.
