Three drivers have appeared at the High Court in Glasgow in connection with a triple fatal crash near Dumfries.

Stuart Logue, 18, Graham Lynn, 20, and Shaun Marshall, 18, have been accused of causing death by dangerous driving and driving at excessive speed.

Luke Shearman, 16, and Mark Johnston, 17, both from Dumfries, died in the crash along with Bethany Jane Secker, 20, a physiotherapist from Bristol.

After the preliminary hearing, the case was continued until 24 October.

The crash took place in mid-afternoon on 5 November last year on the A75 west of Dumfries.

It happened on a stretch of road known as The Glen and involved six cars and a lorry.

The three accused, all from Dumfries, appeared at the preliminary hearing in Glasgow.

Mr Logue has also been accused of losing control of his car, causing it to collide with that driven by Miss Secker.
