Church housing plans thrown out
Controversial plans to turn a former church near Grantshouse into four flats have been rejected.

The proposals were thrown out by the Berwickshire area committee of Scottish Borders Council.

West Park Properties had modified its original plans to turn Houndwood Church into eight flats.

More than 500 people signed a petition opposing the development, arguing it was inappropriate because the adjoining graveyard was still used for burials.
