Gardens get green light to grow
A new £1.3m visitor centre at Dawyck Botanic Garden near Peebles has been given planning permission.

The scheme is designed to enhance the experience for visitors to its special collections and nature trails.

Scottish Executive investment in the ambitious project was confirmed earlier this year.

Dawyck already attracts more than 20,000 visitors a year and the new development aims to increase this figure to more than 30,000 by 2017.
