Second bid to find police chief
A second attempt is to be made to find a successor to Dumfries and Galloway Chief Constable David Strang.

Applications for the post closed last month but a number of withdrawals have prompted the selection committee to advertise the post again.

Mr Strang, who has been more than five years in the region, leaves this month to take up his job as chief constable for Lothian and Borders Police.

Interviews for his replacement had been due to take place before he left.
