The success of Selkirk events has prompted bigger plans

A provisional route has been revealed for the first ever Trans Scotland mountain bike race across the south of the country later this year.
The seven-day event in the Borders and Dumfries and Galloway will include entries from the US and Europe.
It will start in Selkirk on 27 May and pass through Moffat, Dalbeattie, New Abbey and Peebles.
The success of previous one-day events staged in Selkirk has prompted the ambitious plans.
A similar event was successfully staged across Wales last year.
The cross-Scotland route will cover a gruelling 498 km (311 miles) in the space of a week.
It will include climbs totalling some 46,300ft (14,100m).
The event is run like a car rally with a series of timed and linking stages.
