Needle attack CCTV image released
Police have released CCTV images taken at the time of the attack in Carlisle

Police have released CCTV images in an attempt to trace an attacker who jabbed a 15-year-old Dumfries girl with a hypodermic needle in Carlisle.

She was taken to hospital after the assault where she received treatment for a puncture wound.

The incident happened at about 1430 GMT on 30 January outside the Cumberland Building Society in English Street.

Police are keen to trace two men seen cycling in the area at the time, if only to eliminate them from inquiries.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Carlisle police or Crimestoppers.
