Police chief timetable drawn up
A timetable has been prepared for the appointment of a new a police chief for Dumfries and Galloway.

The council will draw up a shortlist of candidates next month before holding interviews at the end of March.

The selection process is scheduled to coincide with the departure of current Chief Constable David Strang.

He is taking over the top job with the Lothian and Borders force after five and a half years in charge with Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary.
