Gamekeeper admits poison offence
A Kelso gamekeeper has admitted lacing a carcass with poison which killed a wild buzzard.

Jedburgh Sheriff Court heard how Maurice Gibson, 62, set the bait at Frogden Farm, where he works part-time as gamekeeper for a shooting syndicate.

The first offender, who lives in one of the farm cottages, also admitted possession of three dangerous pesticides on 31 October last year.

Sheriff Kevin Drummond deferred sentence for reports until 14 December.

Gibson claimed to have inherited the pesticides from his predecessor.
