A Hawick veteran who contracted Legionnaires' disease in the Far East has been discharged from hospital.
Tom Douglas, 69, was with a party of former KOSB soldiers, revisiting camps in Malaya and Singapore where they did their national service in the 1950s.
Mr Douglas - who underwent a heart transplant 20 years ago - was being treated in Borders General Hospital.
He left intensive care last week. NHS Borders said he was recovering well and had been allowed to go home.
Three members of the reunion party were confirmed to have contracted the disease after their trip.
Other members of the group were advised to see a doctor if they started to feel unwell.
