Glass firm's future made clearer

Selkirk Glass is to continue trading despite the other firms' difficulties
Selkirk Glass has been given a stay of execution by the administrators of its parent and sister companies.

Both Edinburgh Crystal and Caithness Glass have gone into administration with the loss of almost 300 jobs.

Fears were growing that Selkirk Glass would suffer a similar fate as a buyer is sought for the two other companies.

Lib Dem MSP Jeremy Purvis met with administrators Deloitte and was assured that the Borders company would continue trading as normal.

About 20 workers are employed at Selkirk Glass.
