Forest under economic examination
A research report has been commissioned to identify how to maximise the economic potential of woodland at Craik Forest near Hawick.

The board of Scottish Enterprise Borders (SEB) has agreed an £8,000 budget towards the study.

Areas such as adventure sports are seen as key to developing about 40,000 hectares of woodland in the area.

However, SEB said it was keen to minimise the impact on the environment and communities living in the area.
