Happy Mondays to cast spell at Wizard Festival

The Happy Mondays found fame in the 1980s

The Happy Mondays will appear at a music and arts festival in the north east of Scotland, it has been announced.

The Manchester band, famous in the 1980s and 90s, will be a headline act on the second day of the annual Wizard Festival in New Deer on 28 August.

Festival director Roy Thain said: "The Happy Mondays have always been one of the top requests from Wizard fans."

Acts that have previously played at the event include The Charlatans.
