Man dies after being hit by train

A man has died after being hit by a train at a level crossing in Moray.

He was struck by the Aberdeen to Inverness passenger service at the Brodie Crossing in Forres at about 0920 GMT on Saturday.

The man was declared dead at the scene. British Transport Police have launched an investigation into the death.

The force urged any witnesses to the incident to contact them. The identity of the dead man has not yet been made public.
