Funding warning over Moray floods

Councillors in Moray are to be warned there is still doubt over funding for flood alleviation schemes in Elgin and Forres.

The warning comes from the authority's chief financial officer as members prepare to meet on Thursday to set council tax levels.

About £5m is set to be cut from the budget for the new financial year.

The council has warned that they need to know government funding will be in place before proceeding.

Moray has been badly affected by flooding in recent years.
