Driver seriously injured in crash

A man in his 50s has been seriously injured after his Mini left the road and overturned in Moray.

The accident happened on the A98 near Arradoul, at about 1610 GMT on Monday.

The driver, who is from the Fochabers area, was taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin but was later transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

A Grampian Police spokesman said he had potentially life-threatening injuries. Police closed the road for inquiries and have appealed for witnesses.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and there was no-one else in the car.

Insp Scott Mann said: "The male involved is currently being treated in hospital for injuries that are potentially life-threatening. His family have been advised.

"I appeal to anyone who witnessed this collision, or its immediate aftermath, who has not yet spoken to police, to get in touch with us as soon as possible."
