Teenage motorcyclist dies after accident

Police were called to a spate of serious crashes

A teenage motorcyclist has died after a road crash in Aberdeenshire.

Zachary Ferguson, 18, died on the B9001 Rothienorman to Inverurie road, about seven miles outside Inverurie, just before 1000 GMT.

The road was closed for five hours after Mr Ferguson's Yamaha 125 was in collision with a digger.

Six people were also hurt in three other crashes, one on the A947 north of Whiterashes, one at the B997 at Bridge of Don and another near Mintlaw.
